Contact Info: 233–0462

Welcome to Mater Christi’s After School Programs. Thank you for your interest. The following information highlights important information parents often want to know.

Licensing/Accreditation:
We offer two afternoon childcare options. An Afternoon Pre School and an After School program. Both are Licensed by the Child Care Services Division of Vermont and Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Program Philosophy:
We recognize children’s elementary years to be formative years. Our programs help to foster this development by offering a wide variety of age-appropriate activities designed to support children’s growth socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically in a value-centered Christian environment.

Program Curriculum:
Our curriculum offers children the opportunity to make choices on how they spend their afternoon hours with us. Activities are “open-ended” allowing for creativity and the schedule is flexible in order to better meet each child’s daily interests and needs.

Daily Schedule & Snack Information:
The following is a sample of the programs daily activities. A monthly calendar and family newsletter are available to keep parents informed. A healthy snack is provided daily. NOTE : Our programs are “Nut-Free.”

2:45-3:30       Socialization, Free Play, Snack Time

3:30-3:45       Group Meeting / Discuss Activity Choices

Both programs are based in the Lunchroom of the Middle School building. The multi-age mix of children works wonderfully, with the older students acting as mentors to the younger children continuing in the spirit that is unique to Mater Christi’s family & value-centered traditions.

Our Staff:
All staff meets State Child Care Licensing requirements and have completed background security checks. Many are Education and Nursing majors at local universities. ASP staff are certified in First Aid/ CPR and attend program orientations and trainings related to youth services. Our staff/adult to child ratio is one staff for every six children enrolled.
