Four Winds

Looking for a great way to get involved with your kids education this year? This year the Four Winds Nature Institute is coming to Mater Christi, thanks to the suppport of the PTO and the MCS administration. For those who are not familiar with the program, it is a year-long learning experience that brings parents and children together in the classroom and outdoors to explore the wonderworks of nature. It is also an excellent way to meet other new parents.

This year's program is Structure and Function where we will explore how the physical structure of an organism helps it survive in its environment. Workshops are conducted monthly by the dynamic naturalist Deb Parella. She will lead volunteers through fun activities who in turn will take what they learn to their children's class rooms.

Volunteers need no prior experience with environmental learning. All that is needed is a desire to get involved and learn along with your kids... Most parents who volunteer once for this unique natural science program come back year after year!!!

The program is offered to grades K-4. Workshops take place the 2nd Wednesday of each month(barring December and June) at 8:30 a.m. Each is approximately 1 1/2 hours. Class room time between one to 1 1/2 hours per month.
