How To Give

Mater Christi School has continuously benefited from the generosity of those that believe in the school's mission. The school depends on the support of families, alumni, friends and foundations. An investment in the school allows us to continue our tradition of excellence by making the following possible:

  • Scholarships - 20% of the students and families at Mater Christi School receive assistance.

  • Academic Programs - the cost of educating a student is not sustained by tuition alone. The cost of creating an excellent learning environment requires the continual updating of curriculum, and ongoing investments in classroom programs.

  • Staff Development - professional development opportunities are essential so we may attract and retain the highest quality faculty. The quality, character, strength and commitment of faculty and staff are the basis for this school's success.

Giving to Mater Christi School may be done in these general areas:

  • Annual Fund - The Annual Fund for Mater Christi School supports the gap in the operating budget between annual tuition revenues and the daily costs of educating students.

  • Endowment Fund - the interest income from endowment fund investments will be used to help support our scholarship program and other special programs.

  • Planned Gifts - includes bequests, life insurance gifts, and charitable trusts.

The Annual Fund for Mater Christi School
Each year Mater Christi School makes an appeal to all parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends for their support of the Annual Fund. The gifts are the most important source of unrestricted funds available to the school.

The undesignated donations to the Annual Fund provides the Board of the school with the flexibility to allocated the funds to the area of greatest need, such as competitive teacher salaries, scholarship, curriculum and student activities.

Tuition and Fees cover approximately 70% of the school's annual expenditures. The balance comes predominately from charitable gifts from individuals. Other revenues will come from income on the school's endowment, grants, fundraising events, and Diocesan subsidies.

Gifts of any size are greatly appreciated and are needed to reach our goal. Every gift matters, and your support means a great deal to the school community.

Endowment Fund
Mater Christi School's endowment fund will play a significant role in the school's future. The endowment fund was established in 1981 to extend and insure the continuation of educational programs at the school, to assist in funding capital improvements and to provide scholarship assistance to students and families who would otherwise not be able to benefit from an education at Mater Christi School. The majority of the investment income from the funds is used today to assist in funding the scholarship assistance program.

The Giving Tree was established in 1991 by the Casey family for gifts made to the scholarship endowment in an amount of $500.00 or greater. The donor must indicate that the gift is specifically for the Giving Tree fund and a leaf will be engraved with the donor's name or as indicated by the donor. The Giving Tree can be found on the wall in the middle school lobby.

Planned Giving
Make charitable giving part of your estate plans. Planned giving including bequests, life insurance gifts, and charitable trusts. Individuals should talk with their advisors before beginning a specific planned giving strategy.
