News: A Message from MCS President, Fritz Lash

April 20, 2015

Dear MCS Families,

Thank you to those who filled out the survey on the health and future of Mater Christi, including concerns and opportunities. We received over 100 responses, all of them thoughtful and in some cases several paragraphs in length. We are using the survey results to form the foundation of a new strategic plan that will carry us through 2023. The Board of Trustees has selected the following members of a Strategic Planning Committee:

  • Sister Marianne Read (Trustee)
  • Sue Rae Glinka, Secretary (Trustee)
  • Faisal Gill (Parent)
  • Allison Kingsley (Parent)
  • Glenda Bedard-Hauenstein (Teacher)
  • Miranda McClellan (Teacher)
  • Fritz Lash, Chair (President)
  • Anthony Fontana (Principal)

The committee has met once and will continue to meet through October. We are excited about the prospect of producing a meaningful document that will guide Mater Christi School to an even more exceptional level of performance.

On another note, I recently walked into Mr. Tremblay’s seventh grade class to find a full fledged dialogue on the situation in the Mid-east, including ISIS, Yemen, and the strategic importance of that region to the rest of the world. As an educator and citizen, my concern for several years has been the declining emphasis on current events for our nation’s students. That is not a concern at Mater Christi.

Hope you enjoy a wonderful, safe spring break.

Sincerely,
Fritz Lash
