Pre-School Graduation

MCS Pre-School students graduate to Pre-Kindergarten

On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, nine MCS students ages 3 and 4 years old, prepared to graduate pre-school. The theme for the ceremony was Simple Gifts. Pre-School teacher, Beth Gazo, commented on how, “Education is reciprocal. I may be their teacher but they also give us all an education daily. Skipping, stopping at any hills etc. We all can learn from them… Frenetic lives miss the simple gifts we are given that our preschoolers appreciate daily.”

Parents and, in some cases, younger siblings, filled the classroom, watching and listening as the children sang. The songs included some traditional ones such as “Itsy, Bitsy Spider,” Three Little Speckled Frogs,’”Mr. Sun” and “Simple Gifts.” Immediately after the mini-concert was the awarding of graduation certificates by Mrs. Gazo. This was followed with a luncheon prepared by the MCS hot lunch staff.

It was evident that Mrs. Gazo was emotional to see her pre-school students leave her to go on to the next step of their formal education as Pre-Kindergarten students. However, she was proud of their accomplishments they’d made individually and as a group throughout the year, both academically, socially and emotionally. She is also appreciative for what they taught her as well…The simple gifts.
