MCS and Gadue’s Dry Cleaning Bring Warmth to COTS

November 13, 2015

COTSEach year, during the first two weeks in November, Mater Christi School and Gadue’s Dry Cleaning work together so that the local Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS) is able to help homeless individuals and families stay warm from Vermont’s bitter cold weather.

Patty LaMothe, pre-kindergarten teacher, coordinates this annual effort along with MCS Alumni and President of Gadue’s Dry Cleaning, Aileen Gadhue. Patty places large cardboard cartons in both of the school’s two lobbies, the MCS community fills them with a plethora of winter wear, and then Gadue’s Dry Cleaning launders them free of charge prior to delivering the donations to COTS.

COTSPeople walking through the Mater Christi School lobbies are always astounded at the generosity evidenced by the many overflowing cartons of clothes. This year was no different, with Patty LaMothe delivering approximately 7 overflowing cartons to the dry cleaners.

Thank you for our school community for your coats, hats, mittens, and warm winter wear.  A big thank you to Gadue’s Dry Cleaning for your on-going generosity with this effort.
