The peas are chatting with the pizza in the elementary school lobby, and they are speaking French!  So is the banana!  Wait a minute; all the food is speaking French!  Ms Giron has been busy teaching the second graders AND their favorite foods how to order meals in French.  Upon tapping the food item, each dish orders itself and proclaims it likes itself.  Students created the food items from dough colored with markers and recorded their voices into a scratch file.  

Three Makey Makey boards, on loan from the VSTEMF, were used to connect the food items to the computer and interface with the scratch program.  Visitors can hear the food speak by touching the silver strip on the table and gently tapping the food once.  Some voices are quiet or shy, so listen carefully!
