President’s Perspective: Priority Registration Deadline

March 16, 2017

Dear Mater Christi Families:

Winter certainly packed a wallop these past few days as our region experienced a historic snowfall.  Hopefully, with spring arriving in just a few days the snow will begin to melt, and we will begin to see new life blossom with the advent of longer days and warmer temperatures.

As we approach the start of spring next week, we are also approaching our priority deadline for our current families to register your children for the upcoming school year. I want to thank the many families who have already re-committed to our school for the upcoming school year.  Your confidence and your commitment to our school is greatly appreciated!  Our priority registration for current families goes through Friday, March 24. After this date, the registration fee will increase so please submit your registration if you haven’t done so.  Please click on this link for additional information about registration:  https://www.mcschool.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/current-families2017-2018.pdf

As I have written to you in the past, our staffing for the school is all based on solid and confirmed enrollment numbers.  In order for us to extend contracts to our faculty and staff, we must have accurate enrollment numbers so that we stay within our budgetary parameters. It is our hope that we can extend employment contracts to our faculty and staff by early April but this is clearly dependent on our families registering in a timely manner for the 2017–18 academic year.

You are also reminded that we need your help in recruiting new families to Mater Christi.  We encourage you to talk up our school with your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Please spread the good news about Mater Christi School; a special place where all are welcome!  And don’t forget, those families who assist in referring new families to our school will receive tuition credits for next year. Please refer to our school website for more details.

The two snow days this week have effected just a few things with regard to our school this week, so we are playing a game of catch-up.  Please note that due to teachers being out of school for two days this week, report cards will not be available tomorrow.  Instead, they will be made “live” first thing Monday, March 20, 2017.  When you receive your child’s report card for the trimester, I hope that you will be pleased with the progress over the past trimester and that you will be sitting down with your children to affirm how they are learning and growing as students at Mater Christi.  We are certainly very proud of your children and love to continually affirm, encourage, and support them.  As always, if you have questions about your child’s progress, please contact their teacher to discuss.  Our faculty is highly committed to working in partnership with you to insure your children are known, loved, and empowered to fully realize their many gifts and talents as students and people of faith.

In closing, I want to remind you that next Friday, March 24, 2017, we will be releasing students at 11:30 a.m. so that our faculty can have an afternoon dedicated to professional development.

Enjoy the snow and have a great weekend ahead!
