Summer 2019 Newsletter: Alumnus Andrew Bailey ’03: Paying it Forward to Support Band

August 7, 2019

When Andrew Bailey ‘03 returns to Burlington where he sits on a local community board, he often stops by to see Band Director, Barb Heath. Over the years, Andrew has supported the band program, and this year, he has made a $5,000 gift to band, for which, to quote Barb Heath, “we are so very thankful!”. Barb went on to share the following:

Andrew Bailey, his son Bowden, and Barb Heath.

“Andrew Bailey, his wife, Maggie and their two children, Gemma and Bowden, reside in Atlanta GA. Andrew played clarinet, for many years, in our MCS Band (class of 2003). He always made band fun. Andrew was a hardworking band student, played very well, and always had a smile on his face. It is such a joy to see him introducing music and jazz to his two young children. That brings me such joy. We are so very grateful for his family’s generous gifts. It has made a huge impact on the MCS Band program, and the two drumlines especially, since those particular groups and percussion in general, need a lot of expensive equipment.”

We are very grateful for Andrew’s support – it has made such a difference!
