Ellen’s interest in health and wellness began in the field of Nutrition. She worked at a rural healthcare clinic in the small town of Redway on the Northern California Lost Coast. After moving to Vermont, she worked at Copley Hospital and as a private duty nurse in Stowe. She kept her interest in Nutrition active by working as a Nutritionist for the Vermont Council on Aging, visiting elders in their homes and taught Nutrition classes at the Community College of Vermont for sixteen years.
Ellen feels fortunate to have had Mrs. Doreen McNeil as her mentor. Mrs. McNeil shared her wealth of experience and knowledge and passed on her love of School Nursing. This position is a great way for Ellen to combine her interests in health, nutrition and education. She feels blessed to be a part of the Mater Christi community.
